I'm Dr. Marcus Sterling, an AI research scientist who spent years training and debugging neural networks long before it was fashionable — back when a failed training run meant waiting overnight just to find out why. I built Otomas' Deep Learning course to be the resource I wish I'd had: one that shows you what's actually happening inside the network instead of asking you to trust a black box.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, from Carnegie Mellon University, where my research focused on convolutional architectures for computer vision.
I still believe the fastest way to really understand backpropagation is to watch it happen, frame by frame, until it stops feeling like magic.
