Feature engineering, selection, and model tuning that ships.
PhD in Machine Learning, ETH ZurichI'm Dr. Sophia Chen, and if there's one thing a decade in applied machine learning taught me, it's that the unglamorous middle of the pipeline — feature engineering, feature selection, tuning, handling imbalance — is where most real-world models actually win or lose. Everyone wants to talk about architectures; almost nobody wants to talk about why their model quietly ignores the one class that actually matters.
I hold a PhD in Machine Learning from ETH Zurich, and I've spent my career since then building production ML systems for fraud detection and risk modeling — the kind of problems where a 99% accurate model can still be completely useless.
Otomas' Feature Engineering, Feature Selection, Hyperparameter Tuning, and Imbalanced Data snacks are my attempt to hand you everything I had to learn the hard way — animated, so it actually sticks.
